大方、ギルヴァに誘拐されそうになったマリアンヌをドンが助けた、なんて想像してたんだろ。残念だけどそりゃ違う。むしろ逆だ。マリアンヌは自分への誘拐計画を利用したのさ。誘拐されたように見せかけて逃げ出した。まったくとんだお転婆娘だ。で、その過程で彼女はギルヴァが一番金を掛けてた酒場を木っ端みじんに吹っ飛ばすんだが、それに巻き込まれたのがドンってわけだ。まぁ結局彼女を助ける事ににはなるんだが、その時、厄介な奴の恨みも買っちまったわけよ。（０３）

凪ぐ海面の境界で、一人の少女が漂い、ゆれる。彼女の手足は半ばほどから先が無く、傷から溢れ出る血潮が辺りを赤く濡らしていた。やがて、その血の臭いに寄せられたのか、一頭のふかが背びれで波を斬り、彼女の元へと迫り来る。母なる海へと還る刻。そう受け入れたその瞬間、不意にふかは海に立ち、彼女を手ずから抱え上げた。驚き瞬く少女の目。見上げ映るは優しき目。それが、のちにナギと名付けられる少女と、その名付け親たる父、クロシオとの出会いであった。

A girl was floating on the border of the calm sea surface. Her limbs were pointless from the middle, and the blood that overflowed from the wounds dyed the entire sea red. After a while, a shark approaches her, perhaps because of the smell of blood. The moment she accepted the time to return to her mother's sea, the shark suddenly stood in the sea and held her up by hand. Surprised she looks up at his kind eyes. That was the encounter between Nagi and her godfather, Kuroshio.

King Sirius, a milestone of a certain era, dreamed of coexistence between humans and dragons, the only one in recorded history. He and Queen Elphinna continued to talk with each other in order to fulfill his childhood dreams, in order to make sure that the prospects, which are almost unacceptable to humans and dragons, would turn into hope. When he finally came true although, the milestone of that era came, and at the moment it was to be fulfilled, his dream disappeared with the blood of the Queen.

「悠久の谷」には、害意ある侵入者と直接対峙する者の他に、彼女たちへの後方支援に徹する守人が存在する。そして、村一番の薬学師たるフィエもその一人である。彼女の調合によって生み出される医薬は、戦場にて目覚ましい効果を発揮し、それにより命を救われた守人は数知れない。しかしその良薬の苦みとえぐみは、他と比べるまでも無く抜きん出ており、それゆえ谷の守人たちは、常日頃より怪我や病に存分に注意を払っている。

In the Perpetual Valley, there are Guards who devote themselves to logistical support for them, in addition to those who directly confront malicious intruders. 守人として個性無く、ゆえに炊事、洗濯、竜舎の掃除と、影なる仕事で守人たちを支えるのがソアラである。かつて幼なじみのウィンクルと共に谷長に拾われた彼女は、悠久の谷で竜と暮らす内、いつしか戦わぬ事を選択した。あるいはそれは、無垢なる巫女の願いでもあり、しかしそれを体現する決意こそソアラの真の個性たりえる。その「願い」の守人として、彼女は今日も笑い、転ぶ。

The Guard Soarer supports the Guards by cooking, washing, and cleaning the dragon house.
