一人の少女が物乞いをしている。薄汚れ、痩せ細り、その瞳はひどく濁っていた。往来を行く者達は、しかし特に関心も持たず過ぎ去って行く。この街には少女のような者はごまんと居た。そしてそれらの者は、ただ死ぬ為だけに日々を生きていた。と、物乞いを続ける少女の小さな手の平に大きなパンがのせられる。少女が顔を上げると、そこには女軍人の姿があった。彼女は穏やかな眼差しを少女に向けると、静かにその場を後にした。
A little girl begs by the road, her clothes ragged and arms frail. People walk past her as if she doesn't exist. A loaf of bread is placed into her small hands. She looks up into the kindly gaze of a female soldier, who then silently walks away.

打ち、鳴る拳。Ｇ．Ｓは「兄」の放った「狂犬」たちを、端から叩き砂に沈める。砂塵を搔き分け来たる其れらを、次から次へと文字通り、己が純たる「血」を燃やし。ゆえについに、頭痛に狂う兄の首へとその拳が至る時、しかし限界は唐突に訪れる。重く、砂漠に膝をつくＧ．Ｓ。血は枯れ、視界は白く濁る。その端に、醜悪な笑みを浮かべる兄の顔を捉えつつ、彼の意識は暗く沈んでいった。と思った、その時。突如遥かな上空から、間の抜けた絶叫と共に、朱色の犬が降って来た。
A beating fist. Burning himself pureblood one after another, G.S smashing the mad dogs released by their brother into the sand. At last, his fist was about to reach his brother who goes crazy for headaches, but the limit suddenly came. G. S kneels in the ground of desert. His blood withers and his vision becomes cloudy. His consciousness sank darkly, catching his brother's face with an ugly smile. At that moment, a red dog with a stupid scream descended from the sky suddenly.

「戦争」は、ついに王都を呑み込まんとしていた。百万に足る帝国、従属、奴隷の兵が、まるで野を灼く黒炎の如く、地を埋め尽くし蠢いている。くゆらす紫煙の先の其れを、丘の上からＧ．Ｓは見下ろしていた。もはやだれにも止める術無く、しかしそれこそ彼が望む、最大にして最期の好機であった。やがて落ちる、灰。そしてＧ．Ｓはその光景と背を向け、傍らに立つ見慣れぬ「姉」、即ち身体と「心」を入れ替えたドーラと共に、帝国への道を歩み出した。
The war was finally swallowing the Capital. A million empires, subordinates, and slave soldiers are wriggling to fill the earth, like a burning black flame. G.S was looking down from the top of the hill, puffing away smoke. The scene, where no one could stop it anymore, was the biggest and final opportunity he wanted. Falling ash. Then G.S turned his back on the scene and set out on the road to the Empire with his unfamiliar sister Dora standing beside him.

古くからの風習が残る、或る砂漠の国にニアは生まれた。国では数年に一度、古来よりその地の守り神とされる老龍に、生贄として妙齢の娘を献上し続けていた。そして999人目の生けにえとして選ばれたのがニアだった。竜を恐れて逃げ出さぬよう、ニアの視力は毒薬によって奪われるも、彼女は気丈に振る舞い続ける。そしてついに其の日、彼女は従者に連れられ竜の待つ「王の遺跡」へと旅立っていった。
There is a desert nation that sacrifices a young girl once very few years to their protector, an elderly dragon. Nia is the 999th sacrifice. She is blinded with poison so she will not fear the sight of the dragon, and taken to the Royal Tomb.

ニアは、一人の岸と共に嵐で荒れる砂漠を越えていた。視力を失った彼女には険しい道のりであるが、それでも彼女は堪え、歩みをすすめる。聞けば、その騎士は一人、ドラゴンを倒す旅を続けているという。目的は決して語らぬが、どこか悲しそうな響きを持つ騎士の声をニアは放っておけず、恩を返すまで共に旅することを決めた。盲目の少女は、しかし騎士の心の光を信じ、また一歩、険しい砂漠の砂を踏む。
Nia now walks the desert with a knight who is on a quest to slay dragons. He does not say why, but there is a sadness in his voice Nia cannot abandon. She has decided to escort him to return his favor, believing in the light she sees in his heart.

今日も大勢の患者が、僕の元へと連れて来られた。足を失ったもの、視力を失ったもの、頭を失ったもの、命を失ったもの。僕はそれらを椅子に座らせ、並べて端から診察し、そして、患者たちに足りない部品を診断する。部品は他者から調達しても良いし、手に入らなければ、竜や獣の部品で代用しても良い。とにかくそれらが再び「生き」始めれば、僕はとっても満足だ。
Doctor's Log 21 Every day, patients are brought in with missing legs, eyes, heads, and even lives. I sit them down in a row, examine them, and replace the parts they are missing from humans—and dragons and beasts, if I have to.

或る雨の日。蒼い鎧を身にまとった騎士が、壊れた人形を抱えてやって来た。致命傷を負っていた騎士は、自分の体を部品とし、その手に抱えた人形を「治す」ことを、僕に望んだ。果たして望みの通り、騎士は人形の一部となり、人形は再び「生き」始めた。残念ながら、所詮まがい物である人形の命はそう長くは保たないが、それでも彼女は笑顔で、その体の一部となった騎士と共に、まだ見ぬ広い世界へ旅立っていった。

Over time the Holy Sword, Holy Grail, and Holy Crown have faded from the history of the Capital. They still exist, still under the control of a group of shadows with no form that calls itself the Order. They are the Capital's true rulers.
